Will the FX-6100 bottleneck the MSI R9-270X?

Solution
The R9 270x is basically a rebranded HD 7870. You won't have any bottlenecks unless if you go crossfiring or switching it to a quite stronger card such as the 280x/290 etc. Would suggest getting the 6300 for cheaper because Vishera family seems to have better cores as it's also newer. But you're okay with the 6100/R9 270x combination. :)
Oh man, how many more threads are going to be like this, short answer NO, long answer please do some research before posting on here, google Jayztwocents bottlenecking video because that video will explain everything about bottlenecking and how it's more of a marketing thing than anything else

I have the fx6200 and the amd 7870 ghz which is very similar. I would say that is a decent match up, but I do notice that my CPU will occasionally cause the frame rate to dip and hold back my 7870 in games. If you have already bought or got the CPU then you should be fine, but if you haven't bought it yet then i would recommend getting an fx6300 or the fx8350 which would match up with the r9-270x better. tbh you should be pretty much fine with a fx6100 :)

I agree. There are alot of people on this forum that freely give out wrong and misleading information. Not in a malicious way, but simply handing out bad info they read elsewhere without having tested it themselves.
