Hey guys. I'm going to buy r5 2600x, asus prime x470 pro and gskill 3200mhz 16gb ram and I was wondering if the gvkb ones would work with this motherboard. Thanks in advance.

Solution
I have this ram with the MOB. (with 2700x)

I am unable to get it running at 3200. In fact it runs way under.. everything works perfectly but my ram.. hugely disappointing in wasting money on it tbh. Avoid it.

GSkill emailed and just said it wont work with a threadripper.. even though its a 2700x.. not a threadripper.

So don't expect any help from their clueless tech team.
Compatible, yes. At the full 3200MHz? Potentially....

I don't believe a 2x8GB kit with that product number appears on the QVL, although similars do.

Do you have the full product number?

It doesn't appear on the QVL so there's no guarantees. There is a reason it doesn't appear on the QVL though:

That product number can be either Samsung B-Die (best compatibility for Ryzen) OR Hynix chips.

They should certainly "work" (ie 2133/2400Mhz) and may just be set it & forget it via XMP/A-XMP, or you may have to manually tune.... and no guarantees of 3200MHz.

2nd Gen Ryzen improved compatibility quite a bit..... but I would still try to pick up a kit of 3000-3200MHz that appears conclusively on the QVL if I were you.
