Will the Hyper 212 Evo fit in my case?

Here are some images of my case - a Diabolic Minotaur - my current cooler (Akasa AK-CC7117EP01 K32 High Performance Intel Cooler for LGA775, LGA1156 and LGA1155 ) can be clearly seen

Looks OK from that I'd say, but then on the side panel there's this big green filter thing that goes directly above the heatsink and looks as though it'll definitely get in the way:

There are some screws - it is removable. Do I really need this thing, or can I safely remove it in order to fit a Hyper 212 Evo?

I'm getting an Intel Core i5 4670K 3.40GHz as part of my forthcoming upgrade. I'm not ruling out overclocking it further down the line which is why I'm looking at the Hyper 212 Evo. If it won't fit, will my current cooler be OK for now - will that be better than the stock Intel cooler?

My case's measurements approx:

45cm Height,
50cm Depth,
20 cm Width.

If the Hyper 212 won't fit, do you guys have any suggestions as to an alternative?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Here's a review from Amazon on my current cooler with my intended CPU:

I am using this fan with an Intel i5-4670k @ 3.40ghz. I haven't overclocked (yet) but i'm sure i'll be able to with this cpu fan without the cpu overheating.

The temperature when idle is usually around 28-30 degrees celcius, but after gaming for a few hours on the highest settings the temperature maxes out at around 50-55 degrees, which is much lower than what the stock cooler would provide.

Overall, i would recommend this to anyone who wants a cheap CPU cooler for a budget build.

If I could stick with my current cooler it'll save me a lot of hassle and £20 or so as well. :)

The green thing is to take fresh air from outside the case and have it going directly to the cpu hs and fan. I'm not sure how much benefit the evo would give you, the case doesnt appear to have any air intakes aside from the small vent where the green tunnel thing is.

Thanks for your reply. So I might as well stick with my current cooler and save myself a few quid? I'll also be able to go for 1866mhz Vengeance Corsair RAM which is a good deal cheaper than the low profile version.

You're right about the air intakes - the one on the side panel is the only one I can see.

Yeah, i would stick with the cooler you have currently, as long as its worked well for you. Don't really know how much overclocking youll be able to get without any case intake fans, so you might look into modding yours to get another fan or 2 installed, or a new case. I love the look of that one, but no intakes would worry me with any kind of overclocking.

Thanks, that's really good to know. I guess my CPU will see me right for a good few years without any overclocking. I didn't know my case was so lousy for O/C'ing, so I'll probably look into a new case next time I do a big upgrade (bit outside of my budget right now). I'll stick with my current cooler; it has worked well for me.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure my case has the ability for adding another fan or two and fans are cheap so I might as well look into it. :)
