The kaby lake platform uses LGA1151.

You're capped out at ivy bridge before you have to swap motherboard. Anything newer uses a different socket.

In USD? Plenty. My personal favorites are the ASUS ones for ATX size, Z270-A should run less than $175 and is a nice board. You'll have to go for lower end gigabytes and asrocks for $100 range but they exist.

if you don't plan on overclocking then save money by getting the non-K version of that CPU and then you can get a cheap motherboard with a H or B series chipset

Out of curiosity, what CPU are you upgrading from? There's not a huge performance difference between Ivy Bridge and the newer Kaby Lake CPUs. If you're really prepared to shell out significant money to get on the latest platform then that's fine, that i5 7600K is a good CPU, but it's a fair bit of money for what might be a fairly minimal performance improvement... depending on your current CPU.

Also, Ryzen launches in a early March. If you're looking at CPU + Motherboard + RAM anyway, then it's probably worth waiting to see whether the price/performance landscape shifts after launch.
