I am currently in the middle of purchasing a new GPU, the GPU being the 2070 Super, I'm just wondering if my i7 6700k will bottleneck it?

Specs:
Case - NZXT H500
CPU / Processor - I7 6700k
GPU - GTX 1060 6GB
Power supply - cm650x
motherboard - Asrock z270 taichi
CPU cooler - Hyper 212x evo
ram - 2x4 Corsair vengeance LPX 2400 - CMK8GX4M2A2400C14
1x8 Hyper fury - HX424C15FB2/8

It will depend much on the display resolution, refresh rate and detail levels you set in game.

Also what are you aiming for in FPS?, Are you ok with getting consistent 60FPS or you wana go up ?

The i7 6700K is still avery capable gaming CPU specially if you do a bit of OC

On the other hand, you are buying an RTX 2070 Super (bascially an RTX 2080) and thats one hell of a card. If you wana unleash the full potential of that card the answer is yes, you are going to need a stronger CPU (Called Ryzen 7 3700X, 9 3900X, or Intel 9700K or 9900K). Intel chips are the current king in the FPS department, with AMD been really, really close on every game.

Thats my humble opinion.

Cheers

Every 4/8 CPU, even the best ones like 6700k will bottleneck games like Battlefield and Assassins Creed Odyssey at some point. Up to 25% of bottleneck. You can look for videos to prove it easily. Look for GPU Usage. It drops often up to 20% and this means exactly how CPU is restricting GPU.

The problem for them (6700k, 7700k, 4790k) is because 4 cores and 8 threads isnt just enough anymore.

I am currently going for 144fps on games such as rainbow six and counter strike. I play 1080p, and usually low settings, with the upgrade im hoping to go for higher settings though. My refresh rate is 144hz if not gathered yet.
