Will the ms 7309 motherboard support windows 8

Hello, I have a System that has a MSI MS 7309 Motherboard. The CPU is listed as AMD Athlon64 X 2 Dual COre Processor 5400+ 2.81 GHZ 2.00GB Ram. I'm wondering if I can install Windows 8 Full Version and it will run properly.

why would you install windows 8 to a machine as old as that?

You should be able to install Windows 8 on your motherboard (although I have not tried it) as Windows 8 is very good at supporting older hardware you should have no problem in this regard. Where you may have problems however is with your graphics card, only the very latest graphics cards work with Windows 8 without problems or even have drivers. Many older graphics cards have only beta drivers for Windows 8 which in my experience are buggy or do not work at all. Even where there are proper drivers available unless it is a very modern graphics card you will find various bugs in the driver.
The processor is adequate for running Windows 8 and unless you have a application that needs a faster processor, it should suffice.

The video drivers are completely different on Windows 8 most other drivers are nearly the same, some network and wireless drivers that work with Windows 7 do not work with Windows 8 but this is not normally a big problem. There are NO Windows 8 drivers for dvx8.1 cards, in such cases Windows 8 installs the generic driver that works for basic Windows functionality but will fail when running 3D games.

Why bother? Toss it in the bin and get a G540, 8GB of RAM and an H61 board for $100 that is twice as fast with half the power consumption. Windows 8 is a modern OS and it works best with modern hardware. If you can't afford new hardware then you should shouldn't be looking at an OS upgrade anyway.
