Will the new PCI-E 2 x16 replace Asus EAX550?

My soon to be ex-wife blew up my video card (Asus EAX550)when she caught me looking at porn and threw my box across the room. Yes, she is feisty but cute.. lol Will the new cards fit in that same slot (PCI-E x16) or do I need a new mobo too?
