Will the new X299 motherboards support old Broadwell-E CPUs (i7 6800k)

Hi, I was in the market for a new motherboard. However I recently discovered that they were releasing a new x299 chipset and a whole new array of motherboards were being made to support the new Skylake X. I was wondering if these new motherboards would support my i7 6800k as well. I want to decide if I should wait for these motherboards to be released, or simply pick a new x99 motherboard right now.
