Will the NH-D15S with a second fan installed be incompatible with the Asus Prime X470 Pro motherboard?

I'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard but am not quite sure how to check if the cpu cooler I have will require a separate mounting adapter or not.

If you change boards, and your current Noctua CPU cooler does not already come with a compatible adapter, Noctua will generally ship you a free adapter for any newly released sockets or motherboards as soon as they have them available. If you bought your NH-D15S anytime in the last two years, you should already have an AM4 adapter that came with it. If not, contact Noctua, they'll likely ship you one for free if you can provide them with proof of purchase of your CPU cooler.

They've done so for me and others on countless occasions.

If you already have had the NH-D15S for over 2 years, then it will NOT be compatible with a new AM4 board. Noctua offers adapter brackets free of charge as long as you have proof of purchase for your board/cooler. It will require a mounting bracket for AM4 socket. If one doesn't come with it, I understand Noctua will ship one to you for free if you send them a scanned or photo'd copy of receipt of purchase for the cooler.
