[SOLVED] will the PCIe 4.0 be backwards compatible with 3.0 NVMe?

Hello guys! with the new PCI 4.0 coming out, will the 4.0 slots for the M.2 memory storage only work for 4.0 SSDs or will it work with the 3.0 M.2 SSDs? Also will the PCIe support 3.0 graphics cards or just AMDs newest 4.0 cards? Thanks!!!

Compatible of course except they will be limited to slower device speeds.

Appreciate it, I bought two M.2 3.0 PCIe drives and I have no idea if they would work with the new X570 boards coming out

As far as I know, there's only one NVMe SSD that works at PCIe v4.0 speeds. Up to 5000 Mbps. but there's bound to be more soon.
