Will the Phenom II X4 OC botttleneck this gpu?

Hi guys,

I have a Phenom II x4 overclocked at 4ghz and really want to buy the Radeon 9750. I have got my mind set on this card and it may be sad but in love with it, lol. My rig will be as follows:

8GB DDR3 Ram
Phenom II X4 965BE OC'd 4.0GHZ
Radeon 9750 3GB Boost edition

I want to run games such as battlefield 4, Fifa 14, GTA V (When it comes out), NFS Rivals, Batman Arkham Origins, etc on high to ultra settings at 720p.

My question is, will my cpu bottleneck my GPU? Please don't suggest a move to intel as I cant afford it and also I considered the FX-6300 but the Phenom has better gaming specs. Any replies would be helpful, thanks very much guys.

Are you buying this card new? If so for how much? The card should have a slight bottleneck, but it will still be very playable.

It shouldn't bottleneck it too much. You should still be able to achieve ultra @ 720p on those games. It might struggle to reach ultra at 1080p though.

You mean ati 7950?, if so that card can play most games at 1080p on high or very high setting especially when overclocked, try seeing how far you can overclock the phenom ii although 4.0ghz hould be enough to eliminate the bottleneck
