[SOLVED] Will the Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 work with my motherboard ?

I have gigabyte z170x gaming 5 and I’m using the Samsung 850 evo as my windows 10 drive and I want to Change it with the Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 will this work with my motherboard and is it worth the upgrade ?

My reading of the specs say yes, you are supported.
You may need to install the samsung pcie nvme driver.

Worth is something only YOU can decide.
The advantage of a pcie drive is faster sequential performance.
But, most of what windows does is small random I/O and performance there is no different than a sata drive.

I made such a change and about the only time I noticed a difference was in antivirus scans.
I think such a change should be accompanied by an increase in ssd capacity to be worth it.
