Will the stock i3 4330 cooler be sufficient for HTPC?

Hello,

My question is pretty much what the the title asks. Will the stock cooler for the i3 4330 be good enough for an HTPC? I will not be overclocking or anything. I will be using it, of course, for streaming and storing audio and video media, and some music creation/editing.

Other components (just in case it helps you help me :^):

Gigabyte GA-H81N
2 x 4GB Crucial Ballistic 1.5V 1600 RAM
Corsair CX 430 Watt Modular PSU
Kingston 120 GB SSD
1TB USB 3.0 External HDD
CoolerMaster 130 Mini ITX case

Do you happen to know if the stock fan will be really noisy?

From my personal experience Intel coolers can be a bit noisy when the CPU is under full load but under normal conditions it wouldn't. Also i3-4330 is an overkill for a HTPC.

Really? Damn, I have been reading that it was a good processor for HTPCs.

For a mini-itx, htpc, I would recommend an APU. A 7700k would be sufficient.

If you go Intel, this is the CPU cooler I would buy that's actually worth buying compared to the price of the CPU.

I personally have that one, and it is MUCH quieter than the stock cooler.

I used this in my AMD system (Athlon) and it worked great/quiet.

The i3 is perfectly fine for a HTPC and the heatsink will be fine as well especially since you cannot overclock the i3.

I would only buy a 3rd party heatsink if the stock heatsink is too loud for you. The only way to find out is to use it.

I recommend the i3-4130 or better yet, the 35w 4130t instead of the 4330. Any of them will be fine. I just don't see any reason to pay extra money for the 4330. The difference between HD4400 and HD4600 are negligible.

I have an i3-4330 w/ stock cooler running on a new matx build I use for HTPC and moderate gaming and it runs very quiet.
