Question Will there be any issues using a 1080P monitor on a 1440P 16:10 Laptop ?

Hi,

So, i'm a little bit stuck in deciding on which external monitor I should purchase for the
Lenovo Legion Slim 5 4060 QHD 16:10 165HZ laptop I've chosen to buy.

I was thinking of buying a QHD 165HZ montior to suit, but it's likely overkill for what I want, and getting the FPS in 1440P for that GPU is going to be difficult in most recent games.

Would getting a FHD 1080P 165HZ monitor be just fine? Are there any noticeable issues with running the higher spec laptop on a downgraded resolution?

Any tips with any montior models / refresh rates are highly welcome also.

There are going to be any issues, you are even doing the system a favor by using a lower resolution. The fact that the laptop has a higher res screen means nothing but more performance(due to the lower res) on the external one.
