Will these drives fit in my computer?

So I have a HP Proliant DL580 G5 enterprise grade server that has 2x 72gb 10k rpm SAS in RAID 0. I have a couple 1tb SATA laptop hard drives. When I looked up on wikipedia, it said that SAS is backward compatible with SATA 2.0. So can I just stick it into the hard drive bay and it will work?

Ok, I have to buy a hard drive case for the hot swappable bay to fit so I wanted to now if it would work before i go spend my money
