Hello

I’ve just got the parts for my new build – but wanted to double check if the CPU Cooler, RAM and Mobo will all fit together ok?
Obviously I’m worried about problems with the Cooler blocking the RAM!

I would ideally like to get another identical set of RAM and fill all 4x slots… will that be ok?

The parts in question:

Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro LGA 1700 DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Model Number: GA-Z690-AORUS-PRO-D4

Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 Vengeance LPX 3600MHz DDR4 RAM – Black

be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler

So all good or should I return them and swap them for (what?)

Thank you for your help

Solution
it depends on the height of the RAM heatsink.
the Dark Rock Pro 4 has cutouts for fitting over RAM modules but if the RAM has an abnormally high heatsink it still may not fit.
I’ve just got the parts for my new build
measure the spaces with a ruler or tape and compare to make sure.
and you can sit the heatsink on top of the CPU without paste or tightening it down and see how much room is left.

That would make 64 GB of RAM.

Do you have any idea how much RAM you might actually use in typical operation?

8 is enough for many. 16 is plenty for most. 32 is enough for nearly anyone.

Why might you need 64? Or 32 for that matter? "Just in case"?? No better place on the PC to spend that money??

Thanks guys for your help

I've gone for Corsair LPX, 32gb in 4 sticks.

While I haven't installed it yet - sounds like there's no way that'll be too tall!

And I was debating 64gb as it's for music production which can use a lot (apparently)

cheers
