For that system you are a lot better off with a 750 Ti if you have a power supply under 400 watts. A 640 DDR3 card will not be smooth in many of those games. Maybe on low if you drop down resolution.

You should have asked what card to get before you got the 640. Your RAM amound and CPU are several steps over that card. The 640 is bellow the minimum that some of those games ask for. The usual steps are to research the card and games you want to play THEN buy the card, not buy the card then try to find out if it's good.

For example Far Cry 4 states minimum of a GTX 460 which is ranked 89 in PassMark benchmark, the 640 you got is ranked 183.

BF4 and GTA 5 have lower requirements, but "upcoming games" you will have issues with.
on some games , it should run fine. but for bf4, crysis, witcher3, i doubt that you will be able to run the games with decent fps.

sorry, but a 640 is not really for heavy weights, those games that you listed eat gpu's for breakfast. try the lowest settings, maybe it will work, if you reach a stable >30fps then that is good enough
