I will be leaving the gpu at base clock because I dont care much about gpu speed. Is the cpu going to get to 4.0 ~ 4.2 ghz at safe temperature?

I can only say what my system is set-up to.

I have the same CPU with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO and I have my chip set to 4.2GHz and I didn't even have to change the voltage.

But..... I don't game with it, I use my 4 monitor set-up for online stock trading so it isn't as intensive as gaming.

My temps didn't change but a couple of degrees higher with all my charting & broker software loaded up.

Once again......I don't use this PC for gaming, but the i5-4690k chip overclocked nicely for my needs.
