Will this adapter work?

Hello guys!

I'm a real rookie when it comes to audio stuff, and would love some insight if this will work for me. I bought a monitor with internal speakers, and a component to hdmi converter. Video is great, but audio sucks on the monitor so I'm looking to hook up a regular stereo logitech speakers I have. I'm looking to order an rca (female) to 3.5mm (female) adapter from monoprice, but I see radioshack sells these

I'm essentially asking if this will let me plug the two rca plugs (red and white) and be able to output sound with 3.5mm port speakers and wondering if this would do the job for me. I would prefer getting it from Radioshack rather than wait for shipping if this work serve my need.

I would skip the internal speakers all together and just use the logitech speakers with your PC. Monitor internal speakers have always been really sub par in my opinion.
