I planning on making the following build and i just wanted to gather a few opinions before i make a move.

CPU : i5 4440 3.1ghz
Motherboard:ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150
RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury White 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Harddrive : Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB
Case : Silverstone PS07B-W MicroATX Mini Tower Case
Power supply : Corsair VS 550W ATX

Edit: I forgot to add that the gpu is SuperSC

Where are you buying (USA?) and what is your budget? Why that particular case? I would prefer to make some changes, but all that depends on location and budget. I assume this is a gaming machine and you do not plan running at more than 1080p 60Hz.

I'm going to be buying these in the United Arab Emirates and most of the pc parts there are extremely overpriced. I chose this case cuz its the only decent one in my budget, my budget is 712$. I plan on buying a 120 or 144hz monitor in the future for csgo (counter-strike:global offensive), for other games 60hz is fine by me.Oh and also just to give you an example i found a case that costs 45$ dollars in the us but cost 95$ in the UAE.

I don't think i need a better motherboard tho. I think this will do the job. Can you give me a reason you don't recommend this motherboard?

Buying that motherboard is like buying a new car from the 2013 model year today. It's new, it works, but it is also older.

However, you don't have the same choices I do. There is nothing inherently wrong with the motherboard either. Did you select the CPU so that a BIOS upgrade was not needed? If you buy from a good 'bricks and mortar' computer store, you can likely get them to update the BIOS for you if it is needed and they should do it for free if you bought all of the parts from them (It will take less than an hour)

Here's our review of this class of motherboard http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/asrock-b85m-dgs-asrock-h81m-hds-asus-h81m-e-msi-h91m-e34,4099-9.html Other similar models are better value.

The main issue for me is the PSU. That's a 'mini-van' PSU in a high-performance 'race-car' system. Can you link to a site where you might purchase from so I can suggest alternatives?

http://uae.dtcae.com/ This is the most reliable site you'll be able to find stuff for cheap on. I used pc part picker for help in building the guide and it said that there was enough power. Btw I really appreciate you trying to help me.

Thanks for replying. I'm not really looking for a motherboard with a lot of flashy features, i just want one i can reliably use for gaming. What psu do you recommend ?

I'd go with an Antec PSU. It will cost a bit more, but the Neo Eco 450W modular will work. It's not about the amount of power or the efficiency, but the long-term robustness of the PSU in a high-performance environment.

Is this fine http://uae.dtcae.com/product/antec-bp450s-ec-power-supply/ ? Ohh and also i forgot to add that the gpu is actually SuperSC, so will it work fine with the motherboard?

The OEM for the Neo Eco is Seasonic; 'race-car'. The OEM for VP or BP is Delta (usually); 'mini-van'

SuperSC merely refers to overclocking and power and cooling needs. Some power comes from the PCI-e slot on the motherboard and some from the PCI-e power connectors on the PSU.

This means you need a PSU with at least one 8 pin PCI-e power connector. That means we must be looking at even more expensive PSUs. The Antec Neo Eco 520 has the connector you need and is also a high-performance PSU.
