I'm currently re-building/upgrading my current PC, and I want to know if it will run games well, paired with the Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q. (1440p 144hz) The only thing I have bought for this build is the CPU and MOBO. If there is anything other than those that I can change in this build that would be better, let me know aswell. Thanks.

that is an amazing build and will easily run 1440p @ 144hz, and just a suggestion, i wouldnt go with the samsung 950 pro, you most likely wont be using that unless you do various software things that chew up read and write speeds, you could save 200 on those alone

It'll definitely drive it, you won't always get 144 fps to match the refresh rate, but it'll do well.
Yeah, you start to see a lot of diminishing returns with the 950 Pro, might want to go with a slightly cheaper M.2 option. Your call though. I have one myself and it is lightning fast.

Thank you! Also, I was wondering if it would be worth to upgrade to the 6700k and DDR4 ram, or just wait a year or two before upgrading my CPU. Like I said I already have the 4790k but I can always try and sell it.

to be honest, wait till next gen intel or amd, intel 6th gen hasnt brought anything new and amazing to the table, im still rocking a 3570k and competing with most other systems

Yeah, this. I went from a 4790K to a 6700K (new build, not an upgrade) and the difference is pretty negligible. Same for DDR4, really.
