[SOLVED] Will this build (TX650M 80 Plus PSU) be able to support an upgrade to a ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ROG Strix?

Hello everyone! I found a really good deal on a used ASUS RTX 2080 Ti ROG Strix and would love to install it to my current rig, but I'm not sure if my PSU will be able to handle the upgrade. I currently have a TX650M 80 Plus PSU from Corsair and have had zero problems with it running my 2070 Super. I've included my full build below:

I would not run any stress test since under full load you can be in the 600 watt area.

270 watt video card and a 250 watt or so CPU under load.

I would much rather see a quality 750 / 850 watt PSU for that combination.

The power consumption of the 10900k depends wildly on the motherboard. With factory limits in place, it will be 200w or less, but with these limits disabled it can be as high as 300w.

As long as you don't overclock or remove power limits It shouldn't be an issue.

The PL2 of the 10900K is 250 watts that is using full turbo speed. PL2 is what you called factory limits. (without overclocking)

EDIT For clarification Can it run it yes, would I be looking at buying another PSU yes. I don't like using a PSU where it can draw almost all the rated watts under full load I much rather be in the 80% area since normal load for say gaming will be less than a full system stress test. Now if it's used for work programs then going to the max output of the system could be a lot more possible and for sustained periods of time.

If you got it 3 weeks ago, you can most likely return it. It's worth a shot.

The TXM is fine, but 650w is, well, borderline.

It also sux with the current pricing of them if you can even find one. If you need to run it for a while then do so most of the decent ones can actually draw a bit more than their rated for but long term I personally would be upgrading.

I had to reuse my 5 year old Seasonic in my new build because of the shortage and pricing but plan on buying the 3800 card when they are released with the non reference coolers along with a ultra wide 1440p monitor (3K) and will be replacing my PSU then also.

Yes no M that I remember for bronze rated, 2 versions that were non M that I remember one made a CWT (if I an thinking right been like 8 years) the other a V2 made by Seasonic. I still have a PC with the V2 (850 watt) was running a 2500K @ 5.2 with Xfire 6970's have since swaped the cards for a 980 it's my son's PC still running strong.

You would know if it did support that gpu in combination with that cpu, nothing to say about that?

Personally do i think you should be fine with what you have.

TX650M should be fine with the 2080Ti. It's rated for continuous at 50°C. I could test it myself, but it's the weekend.

OP should just go ahead and install it and fire up Catzilla or Unigine Heaven and see what happens. Worst case it'll just shut down.

I'm more or less trolling the guy for putting "80 PLUS" in the product name as if it means something.
