Will this build work?

I am about to buy a pc and have had a really hard time picking the parts. Here is what i have come up with so far, feel free to tell we what is complete rubbish and recommend an alternative part

CPU: Intel I7 4790K

MOBO: ASUS Maximus VII Hero

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970

Memory: 2x8 G.Skill Ripjaws X

HDD/SSD: Samsung 840 Evo pro 250gb and Seagate barracuda 2TB

Case: Corsair 650D (the 750 wont fit on my shelf)

PSU: Corsair CS750M (looks cool)

CPU Cooling: Anything (Corsair i100 or NZXT Kraken X61 or just air cooling)

Everything is compatible,the PSU isn't great,avoid Corsair CS/CX/VS/Builder series as they are poor quality.
What is the PC used for? Gaming? Editing?

Its for gaming at 1080p at ultra settings it wont be editing though so is the cpu overkill?

Just a bit, for 1080p , a i5 4690k will be better

For gaming,an i5 4690K would be better.It offers the same performance as the 4790K in games.
You don't need 16GB of RAM,8GB or 2x4GB is perfectly fine.
Get the Kraken X61 or the Swiftech H220.
For the PSU,an EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850W so you can SLI and have some room for overclocking.
