Hi everbody. I was thinking of building my own pc, and I'm pretty new to it. I'm not entirely sure if the build that I am currently thinking of building will actually work, here it is:

Case - NZXT Source 210 ELITE Midtower Case with 3.0 USB
PSU - EVGA 500B 500W 80+ bronze
GPU - Asus r9 270x 2GB 5 PCI, and its dimensions are 4 x 27.2 x 13.3 cm if that means anything.
Motherboard - Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+)
Ram - 8GB ripjaws X DDR3
CPU - AMD FX6300 3.5/4.1 ghz

I already have a HDD and a SSD lying around, so I don't have to buy those 2 I suppose.

I would go with an Intel processor, as the lower watt usage will let you squeeze the most out of your PSU, so that the higher CPU cost will save you more overtime. And with Skylake coming out, Haswell prices will be coming down.

'Skylake is already out'

Well, sort of. Skykake-K is. But yes, I am aware.

To the prices part, I disagree. For example, some people think the Xbox One was just a little bit better (or some thought it was worse) , but the Xbox 360 price still kept coming down. Haswell is 2 generations behind being the newest, and it's starting to be an aging product afterall, and we know what happens to aging products...

Xbox is completly something else, the prices are falling because it has poor quality hardware that can support newer games so you cant play new games on it.

Haswell is far from beign old, CPU like i5 2500 will be soon 5 years old and they are still as good as today i5, CPUs dont age so quick as GPUs. i got i5 4460 for my PC and i expect it to last till 2020 or even longer, there arent many games that use more than 2 cores so when the games that use 4 will come out we will be able to use full potential of Intel quad core CPUs

It's not about how good the product is, it's about how old the product it is.

Going back to consoles, the 8th gen consoles were released around the same time as Haswell, and they have their price drops. And yes, they haven't had their successor, but the products have had time for the price to go down. It will be Haswell's turn soon.

We will se but i doubt the prices will fall, Intel is regularly releasing new CPUs and because of that prices dont fall. CPUs get replaced with new ones and the old CPU are nowhere in stock so you cant buy it. Its a differente story with AMD where old AM3+ CPU are still the best in theire line

Taking a look, you're right. Looking at even a 3570k it's still rather expensive. You never know, the market changes.
