Will this combo be any good?

I want to build a new pc,(it will be my 1st pc built by me) and i was wondering if this will work:
CPU: i3 6320 + GPU: GTX 970

Though it will "work", as in function, it won't give you the performance you want in demanding AAA titles.

Modern games are utilizing CPUs more and more and it seems to be a trend which is set to last. Older titles and MOBAS will have no trouble however as soon as you get to open world games and stuff like WoT/War Thunder or even CSGO, these really make use of the CPU quite heavily in some cases, less in others.

You may want to try and get a true 4 core with an AMD fx8350 or a low end i5 (4460, 6400/6500). If this isn't within your budget, you can make room by saving on the GPU and heading towards an AMD 380x/280x.

Then again, these are assumptions based on common gamers playing patterns. What you play may be heavily GPU...
