Will this computer work for me?

I'm not very good with computers, and I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I play the Sims 3 and its expansion packs, so I wanted to make sure the laptop plays it well. This is the laptop:

do you have to have a laptop because with 900 dollars you can build a sick ass gaming rig that will play battfield 3 better than the xbox or ps3. just spend the money to build a computer. cpu- i5 2500k: 209 bucks. gpu-gtx 560 ti fermi- 249 99. motherboard- 150 dollar lga115 motherboard. case- smilodon 79 99. psu-40 dollar 500 w. 1 tb hardrive 100 bucks. 8gb ram gskill 45 bucks. These are all of the components to build a computer and its under the price of the laptop you are about to buy. this rig will run game three times bettter if not more for less of the price, and you can even buy a cheaper case for around 29.99 if you wanted too but i dont reccomend. But to answer your initial question yea it should run sims just fine
