Hey there guys,

Currently getting some high temperatures from my PC while gaming, to the point that my PC just shuts off. Would this cooler fit in my PC?

I was hoping to find one that would fit without me having to remove the motherboard if possible. Would this cooler also be decent for overclocking? This PC has an FX-6300.

My PC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229619R

The only thing I have done is added some RAM and a GTX-950.

Thank you.

I cant find the case. your using but if you measure frm the CPU to the edge of the pc where the side panel goes, as long as its less than 5.2 inches your fine.

Update:
Found your case looks like its width is 7.5 so yes it will fit fine.

I got rid of the original PSU and put in an EVGA.

That one looks nice. Would I have to remove the motherboard to install it, and would it be good for overclocking my PC?

You have a Turbolink PSU-shaped object in your system. Based on this review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/apevia-turbolink-atx-tl450w-bk-power-supply-review/ of a similar unit, I'd be surprised if yours is able to deliver more than about 250W cleanly; in fact the review unit had out-of-spec ripple and noise even at the lowest loads tested. You are indeed lucky if your system is just shutting down, and the PSU isn't just burning.
You need a quality 450W PSU for your system. Seasonic, XFX, and Antec would be safe choices for you.

Edit: Oooh, good to see you replaced it. Even if you got a low-end HEC-built one (e.g. an early "B" model), you got something much better than what you had. Carry on!

It looks like you can get to the back of your motherboard just fine. here is a tutorial on how to install it. even if you cant get the bracket on the back and have to remove the motherboard its easy. take pictures of where wires go, unscrew motherboard, put on bracket, install cooler, screw mobo back in. its prob easier for u if u take it out anyway. you will have more confidence in yourself after you do it this way.
