Will this CPU be a decent upgrade from an old AMD FX CPU?

I recently received a GTX 1060 6Gb from my brother who is away in college.

So I was thinking that my old FX 8320E would bottleneck the 1060 6Gb. That is why I'm upgrading the CPU to a R5 1400, B350 motherboard and get 8 gig's of ddr4 ram.

The current Graphics card that ran with the 8320E was a R7 260X.

Should I save up and get a R5 1600 instead? Because I thought that the 4c/8t 1400 CPU would be great with a mid range card like the 1060.
I will mostly use this PC for my online courses and gaming.

definitely save a bit more money and buy r5 1600
it is not that much more expensive after all and it is worth it .

another option would be to buy i5 8400 and Z370 motherboard :
but this option is usually more expensive in most countries unless it is on sale .
