I'm looking at jumping from a phenom ii x4 945 3ghz, up to a fx-8 8350 4ghz processor.
Will there be a nice jump in fps in arma 3? And other games.

Solution
An 8320 is only 200MHz slower than an 8350 at stock, it's a negligible difference. No need to mess with the OC if you don't want to.

The FX series isn't that much better than the Phenoms in truth. However since yours is running at 3GHz, the 4GHz 8320 would provide a nice enough boost.

As for the 95w-125w difference, you'll be fine. Your system won't saturate 500w.
What's your budget for this upgrade?

The 8350 is a little behind an old i5.

But you'd be looking at a decent performance jump, yes.

My budget is £150 ish, maybe a little more or less, trying to get away from my old phenom ii as it doesn't quite keep up any more. And would like to play more cpu intensive games, I'd love to grab an i5 but it'd cost more due to swapping out the board. I'm also wondering if I'd need a new psu to go with the new cpu. My specs are in my sig. Please feel free to drop in some suggestions :)

An 8350 is the best you can get, for that board and your budget.

You could instead get an 8320 and just bump up the CPU multiplier by 200MHz and you have an 8350 for £25 less.

If I were in your position I'd get the 8320. I'd try and get another 4gb RAM stick of the same model you currently have, to add up to 8GB.

I've never heard of your particular PSU but if it isn't causing problems then I wouldn't say it provides any reason to worry.

My psu is a brand from a store I use regularly for my pc components it hasent given me any issues, I was just curious as my current cpu is a 95w if I remember correctly, and the new one is rated at just over 120. As long as an 8320 can give me some nice bonus frames then it'll be great, I'm not very confident in bumping up any of the oc stuff.
