I am getting a new GPU (GTX 550 Ti, with a PSU that comes with 6 pin) for a Dell Dimension E520 and Dell Optiplex 740 MT, but am worried that the 2-bay-hogger GPU will not fit, but will it according to this picture?

I don't think so actually. Looks like a BTX motherboard, so the cards are facing the wrong way. You would need a fifth opening to the left of your black square.

In ATX cases and motherboards the I/O is above the PCI expansion slots. On BTX it is below them.

You will be limited to single slot cards.
