Just a few questions. Can this gaming rig.

- Power Supply: OCZ CoreXtreme 500w PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i3 3220 3.30GHz Dual Core CPU
- Motherboard: Gigabyte H61MA-D2V Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: Stock Intel CPU Cooler
- RAM: Geil Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz C11 DDR3 Dual Channel Kit
- Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 7850 1024MB
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Run the following games at max/ultra, even with AA, Vsync, ?

- World of Tanks & World of Warplanes
- Firefall
- Planetside 2
- BF3
- Arma 2 / Day Z
- Guild Wars 2
- Borderlands 2

You can run them all on max but to get good FPS you will need to lower some settings. They will all run very well at good enough settings just not maxed. I am basing this on a 1080 monitor at very low res you may be able to play them all maxed.

Nooooo. You'd only be stepping up a single tiny increment. Unless you're getting a full refund for your existing card, not a smart purchase. You'd really want to step up to a GTX670 for a genuinely appreciable performance boost over what you already have (since it's a pretty fast card anyway). You could hopefully get a decent second hand price for selling your current card.

Match the below stuff with a 670 is the MINIMUM if you want to be running BF3 at ultra and it depends on you getting a decent overclock from that CPU. The total spend would be around £650 excluding Windows.

The AMD build would do it you could use a new FX6300 in place of the Phenom II for a little bit more. Or If you wanted to shave off some ££ on the Intel build you could get a i5 3570 (not the k), a cheaper b75 board (as you can't overclock the non K CPU so don't need z77) and ditch the Hyper 212 cooler, that would save around £80.

I'm assuming here you are gaming at 1920X1080 resolution (1080p) and want a solid 60FPS. Also keep in mind the visual difference between BF3 ultra and BF3 high is barely anything but the difference you need to spend for ultra is +£100, if high is good enough a GTX660ti with that AMD build would be fine.

Skip the GTX660 Ti. The performance gain is negligible. It's priced it midway between the GTX660 and GTX670, but performance is much closer to that of the GTX660 (which can be had for £60 less, check Dabs for an excellent deal).

I agree the 660 is better bang for your buck but negligible depends what games you play.

I won't cherry pick the benches you can see them all here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=647 it all depends what you want to play at what settings in some things the difference there is worth the extra in some there is no difference

Really depends what you can budget it's arguable though that if you budget £220 for a 660ti then finding an extra £60 for a 670 is not a huge step and also I would say on a gaming machine finding the extra £50 to go from a 660 to a 660ti could be worth it if you play the titles where there is a good increase.

Sorry I'm back again, but my friend also want to buy a graphic card, he'll be playing Borderlands 2 and World of Tanks & Planes with me, this is his current rig with no graphic card at the moment.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H ATX LGA1155
Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V

His in dilemma and don't know which one to buy between the two MSI card.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB £166.39

Or

MSI Radeon HD 7870 2GB £180.94

Well 10% represents the difference between 30fps and 33fps - not really a game changer and probably not a huge deal to most gamers. I'd be interested if you find an example of 20%+ gain (I won't call it cherry-picking).

Not really a big deal either way though - you're not going to end up regretting either purchase (except if you went Ti you might regret not going the rest of the way to a 670 I suppose). Both strong performers anyway.

Hello again, tonight my friend told me that she'll give me a new computer, with no operating systems included. She asked me to choose between the two.

Please help me choose between these two builds:

EDIT: Quick question, does all GTX 660 Ti purchase guarantee a free Borderland 2 digital steam activation code?
EDIT: Just as wr6133 advice, I would want to ask, for the AMD rig, if the Cooler and the Power Supply are enough to OC X4 955 BE to 3.6 or 3.8, maybe even to 4.0 (I wish! 0_0).

INTEL CPU

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core (£159.95)

The first setup is kind of strange, because the motherboard doesn't allow overclocking while the CPU needs to be overclocked. Though, it is a better setup nevertheless. Are those your only options?
