I have a HP Compaq Elite Small form factor PC and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to a Msi Gtx 1050 Gddr5 2gb Pcie X16 Low Profile Displayport Hdmi Dvi-D (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Msi-Gtx-1050-Gddr5-2gb-Pcie-X16-Low-Profile-Displayport-Hdmi-Dvi-D/344643811?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227068037666&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=172817710059&wl4=pla-279143823791&wl5=9027425&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=344643811&wl13=&veh=sem) I need to know the dimensions of the expansion slot before I buy the graphics card. Please help, thanks.

Solution
PCIE expansion slots are industry standards. If the motherboard has a PCI-Ex16 expansion slot, the card will physically fit within the slot.

HP Compaq Elite 8300 Specifications Page - The Small Form Factor specs are about 1/2 way down the page.

Of more concern is the power supply. Your system only has a 240 watt power supply which I wouldn't trust to adequately and safely run that graphics card.

Welcome to Tom's!
Have you tried looking at the HP support website? or Google?

Solution
yes it will fit a low profile graphics card
but you to put in a new power supply the computer will need a massive overhaul as the power supply is l shaped so a new case is needed and the rear io will not come off for a new case

personally, I have a 6300 sff, which has the same form factor and psu capacity. I had to get a gt 1030 low profile because my pci x16 slot has a 25w power limit on it, so I can't risk a 1050 which can take up up to 75 w.
even if your computer doesn't have such a limit, I wouldn't push it with such a small psu.

It fits fine and runs fine. I have the same 8300 Elite sff and the same MSI GTX 1050 low profile card. The card arrived today. Running i5 3570, 12GB DDR3 1600, 120GB KINGSTON 300 SERIES SSD, 500 GB HDD. No issues with power or throttling so far.

wait hold on if the heatsink is similar to the 6300 sff then it wont work. the fins need to be oriented so that the fan can blow air through.
