Hi, Im looking to build a custom desktop and im not sure if the graphics card will fit.

Graphics card: EVGA Geforce 960 G1 Gaming-4GD

Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3

Case: Rosewill Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case FBM-01

Thanks.

Solution
Before you go further, can we convince you not to do a build on that platform? The AM3+ platform is already out of date...

It should fit, but Rosewill dont list Graphics card supported sizes unfortunately.

I kind of already ordered the motherboard, so too late on that. Will it not be able to run the computer well?

I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck with your build, make sure you get a good quality PSU.

Thanks so much! I selected an EVGA 500W power supply, not sure about the exact model, but do you think that's sufficient?

That should be fine.

I would recommend getting a aftermarket CPU cooler (plenty available for cheap, like the 212 evo), I have an 8350 in another machine and the stock cooler was garbage, very loud and barely kept the cpu from throttling the speed due to heat. Your CPU would thank you for it.

Yeah i actually ordered one - Socket 478 Aluminum Heat Sink & 2.75" Ball Bearing Fan w/3-Pin Connector up to 2.8GHz

This might be a noobish question, but since this is my first build. The cooler goes on top of the CPU with thermal paste right?

Ok, I went ahead and ordered the Hyper 212 EVO. How well do you think this system will be able to run high quality games, such as GTA V, Batman Arkham Knight, and Fallout 4? For examples.

at 1080p it will run most games at high-ultra settings
if there is anyway i would try and cancel the motherboard and get a better one for only 15$ more

Ok, can you give me a model for a motherboard that would work? Micro ATX.

any of these would work the last one is the best or the three but any of these are better than what you got these also allow you to if you wanted later to upgrade to a used or new cheap 8350 or something

Ok. I can't cancel everything by the way, but I was able to cancel the motherboard and the:

ASRock Micro ATX DDR3 1066 Motherboards 970M PRO3

Is on it's way and should be delivered tomorrow. I also went ahead and ordered the Cooler Master/Heat Sync 212 EVO that you suggested. Once again that goes on top of the CPU right?
List of my parts:

  • TOWER: Rosewill Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case FBM-01
    MOBO: ASRock Micro ATX DDR3 1066 Motherboards 970M PRO3
    GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming-4GD
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2)
CPU: AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition
HDD: Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (ST1000DM003)
    PSU: EVGA 500 W1 80+, 500W Continuous Power, 3 Year Warranty Power Supply 100-W1-0500-KR
CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2)

I think that's all. I'm not missing anything am I, except maybe accessories + the OS.

Yeah exactly, it comes with thermal paste, they used to put in a little bag, squeeze out a pea sized blob on the CPU heatspreader, then let the heatsink spread it out when you clamp it down.

If you could budget for it I would recommend a SSD for your boot drive, but other than that looks ok.

I could just the internal hard drive to boot the OS couldn't I?

And also, you do think that the GPU I've selected will fit right? It's kind of a big graphics card, and I'm hoping that it will fit.

Yeah of course and it will work just fine, these days most will opt for a SSD to install windows and frequent programs because they are so much faster and make the system a lot nicer to use (significantly faster loading times in windows, boot up, more responsive etc)
