Will this idea work the Windows 10 Education?

Ok I need help with this, I am building my own PC, and i needed an operating system. My school does not offer free Windows 10 Education like others, so I contacted a friend at another school and they can get it for free. My question is, they received a windows 10 education key code, first of all will the code work on the pc I am building? Second, if it will, how should i go about putting this on the PC I am building now? Thanks for the help!

1. I don't know about code, it should work if your friend hasn't used it already

You will need an email address from the institution that issued the code for the Windows 10 Education Edition. That is usually not too hard to obtain.
