Hello!
So recently, I purchased a Acer Aspire V5-571p-6649. I was wondering if this laptop would run games smoothly. Games I play include WoW, ESO (I got beta baby!), CoD, BF4, and other high demanding games. I own a decent desktop made by cyberpower so I am not looking to run at ultra or anything like that. I was hoping to hit medium/low. The specs are alright except the video card.
Here is the link to the product: http://www.officemax.com/technology/computers/laptop-computers/product-prod5012174?R=24020809

I dont know how well an intel HD 4000 graphics card will hold up to games such as eso and WoW. If it wont run very well, what should I upgrade to make it run very nicely and smoothly. I know the graphics card is the must, but the ram is fine right?
Also, if you know own this product or know any graphics cards that will work with this, let me know.
THanks!

Yes and no depending on if your laptop supports a second GPU(Graphic Processing Unit) but most laptops don't have compatibility unless they already have a second GPU like a gt740m or something like that so if you can't do that then your probably out of luck for most games but I come from an AMD A6-3400m which is junk but games like minecraft will run quite smooth as it's CPU intensive compared to games like Battlefield 4
not very well is the general answer

the furthest an intel integrated will get you on these games is 720p on the lowest settings, maybe a bit higher for WoW.

But for BF4 I do not think it'll run at all on integrated graphics, maybe on 800x600 on Intel HD 4600, but a definitive no for HD 4000.

How will you upgrade the graphics chip? It's difficult to upgrade laptops manually because laptop components are balls to the walls expensive on the consumer market... I'm not sure if you can even get laptop graphics chips on the consumer market

So really the only thing holding me back is the graphics card? How bad is the intel 4000? This is the first time i have had an Intel processor or graphics.
EDIT: Do you mean it will be laggy or just bad graphics?

the intel HD 4000 is the integrated graphics chip, as in the laptop actually has no graphics chip, it's just a processor with a small space dedicated to a weak graphics processor.

it will have bad graphics because integrated graphics chips from Intel are very weak and are only there for business grade computers so they don't need to get a graphics card to display an image.

Is there a way to get a graphics card?

Thank you very much. I should have it by Tuesday so I guess I just have to wait and see how things run 😀.
