Will this monitor be good for cs:go?

Here's my pc. Haven't put it together yet, but have ordered all the parts:

I'm a very visual person, and like things in high resolution. My performance in CS goes down considerably when I try playing at the potato resolutions that many of the pros use. I have a pretty high budget for my monitor (~$450) and found this refurbished 27" 1440p 1ms 144-165hz G-SYNC monitor right in my price range:

Would it be a good CS monitor (quick response time, little input lag, almost no screen tearing, etc.)? If not, what other suggestions do you have? I'd like a 1440p monitor for some more visual games in the future, and I need at least 120hz for CSGO. This monitor seems to kill two birds with one stone, but I could also get two cheaper separate monitors - one with high refresh rate but only 1080p, and the other at 1440p. Whatever you think works best.

Thanks!

That will be the perfect monitor for a FPS game like CS:GO. An IPS panel will have better color and viewing angles than a TN panel, but IPS panels cost more and have a longer lag time.

Also, I purchased a Predator xb32 (4k, gsync) on ebay that was a refurbished model and I have not had any trouble with it. I think it will be a good monitor to pair with your 1070.

Ok thanks. You think my 1070 will be able to run the monitor at 1440p over 165fps?

No, a 1070 will not run 1440p at 165fps on high settings. But if you drop the settings down some it will get in the 120 fps range. Any 1440p monitor you get will have this problem. You could always play CS:GO at 1080p on a 1440p monitor, and the other games you play where such a high fps is not as important you can play at 1440p. I would not get two separate monitors, when one monitor can do the same job.

Considering the current GPU prices with the mining craze, the 1080 is a better value when it comes to pricing right now. A few weeks ago I saw new 1070's for $500 and next to them 1080's were only $550. MSRP for a 1070 is $350. So if you are paying over $400 doe 1070, you are over paying and may want to consider the gtx 1080.

I can still return the 1070, will a 1080 do the job? Thats about as much as I can spend.
