Will this motherboard accept PCI Express 3.0 GPUs

I want to upgrade my graphics card but i want to make sure the motherboard allows it.

If you look at the GPU i have been looking at it says 3.0, i'm not sure what this is.

PCIe 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0. So yes that graphics card will work with that motherboard.

I would recomend you get a R9 280x instead of a 7970. The R9 280x is the newer and faster version of the 7970.

but the thing with PCIe is that its ALL BACKWORDS and FOWARDS compatible! Will you see a difference if you were to get a PCIe 3.0 board? Not really.

That card maxes out battlefield 4 jeez, thank you. Any better card you know that i could get for around £300

To get something better you would have to spend more money. If you want to spend more money here are some options.
