Will this motherboard, processer and fan work together? And what ram should I get?

Hey I want to upgrade my pc. I have the Nvidia gtx 980ti, which I think i'll upgrade to the new gtx 1080 when it drops in price. But first I'll upgrade my motherboard, CPU, and ram.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about these things so I would gladly take some advise
I have looked at the GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 and the Intel Core i7-6700K.

As the CPU fan I have think I'll buy this one: https://www.dustinhome.dk/product/5010821990/pure-rock-processor-koler.

I'm pretty sure that these parts will work together, I'm a little concerned about the fan. Is it strong enough? Keeping in mind that I want to overclock the CPU.

As ram, I have no idea what to buy and what's compatible with the motherboard. I just know that I wan't 16 gb.

That will work, on the cooler might look at the H7 from Cryorig, and for DRAM the GSkill Ripjaws V in 2666 2x8GB

Not sure the Gigabyte Gaming 7 is worth almost $50 more than the Gaming 5. I agree about the CRYORIG H7 or even the H5.

Can go 3000, it may well require an OC of the CPU, also the advanced timings on the RJ V sticks are more aimed at the 1151 socket, where the RJ 4 were aimed at X99, either will work fine, just some extra info

I seached a bit on Intels website and found a place where it says:
Meomory types: DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V

As said before, I don't know a lot about these things, but doesn't that mean that the CPU only supports ram with 1866-2133 MHz?

That's the base spec for the CPU and what all Skylakes are rated to. The 6700K can generally take 2666-2800 at spec (with no OC) and often 3000 or higher depending on the individual 6700K. My 6600K can handle 32GB of 3000 at stock. If OCing could even go higher

And are there anything that I should do on my computer before changing the motherboard?

May need to change the default boot drive to your OS drive and if you go DRAM over 2133 will want to enable XMP and select profile 1 ) If any problems give a shout, I'm in daily
