Will this motherboard support a SATA 6gb/s Hard Drive?

It has two SATA 6Gb/s connectors. To find this out, just search your board at Newegg.com, and most of the time it will show up and provide you with all the specs of the board.

Those are the controllers. If you go search on other websites, you can find the actual statistics instead of having to infer things. Much of the time, Google can be your friend (surprisingly enough). You can just search "Newegg.com [motherboard name]", and it will come up with the page, in which is contained the SATA specifications.

SATA 6Gb/s drives are backwards compatible so they will work on motherboards that have SATA ports, even if the ports are not 6Gb/s.

The motherboard you linked has 4 SATA 6Gb/s ports, so you will be ok.

Also FYI, HDDs can be 6Gb/s "compatible", not 6Gb/s "capable".
No hard drive can spin fast enough to achieve 6Gb/s speeds.

Only the data in the drive's buffer (16MB, or 32MB, or 64MB) can be transferred at 6Gb/s speeds, that it.

So you can connect your 6Gb/s HDD to your motherboard's 6Gb/s port or the 3Gb/s port, and it will Read/Write at the exact same speeds.

Gigabyte's website indicates that that particular model has 2 Intel 6Gb/s ports and 2 Marvell 6Gb/s ports.
