Question Will this motherboard support this GPU

My Motherboard is a MSI Z170A gaming m5 (ms-7977)
My GPU is a gtx 1060 and the GPU i’m trying to see if it’ll support my motherboard is a AMD Radeon RX Vega 64. Will the AMD support my motherboard?

My processor is a i7-6700k with a fractal design r5 solid case
The psu is an atx 850w, so if the motherboard only supports intel chip will this be an issue with the gpu? Thats what im worried about

No it doesnt matter what cpu your motherboard will support the vega64 just fine the psu is also fine its more than enough for your system with the vega card

If that's a generic PSU then you are going to need a new PSU.

Your board won't care whether you use an AMD or Nvidia GPU and will work regardless.

What is the make and model of this 850w? If it is generic you definitely need a new PSU. The Vega 64 isn't exactly power efficient to put it kindly.

Im not to sure bcz im getting this pc from a friend and i only know so much but i figured 850w is plenty

You need to find out. A good 850w PSU yes would be fine, while a generic 850w PSU could fry the rig at the load a Vega 64 can pull.

850w is fine, but if the PSU is of inadequate quality it can cause all kinds of problems ranging from random restarts to a fried system.

You should ask this friend for the make and model.
