So I have been thinking of building a pc for a while now, and I have got a few parts in mind. I have an AMD athlon x4 860k quad core 3.7ghz, 8gb ddr3 ram, and a gtx 1050 ti 4gb graphics card. I am on a budget of around £400-450. Any recomendations would be appreciated, thanks

That CPU is not recommended... Dead technology. My suggestion:

thanks, will look into it.

My suggestion (albeit I'm no expert) is get a higher spec GTX card that's a series behind, rather than a low end current series. It's the difference between a new BMW 318, compared to a 15 year old 745. The 745 is STILL a better car in terms of features and drivability. Sure it doesn't smell new, but you're getting a whole lot more car for the same money. This only applies to a point though, there's no point getting a GTX 480, instead of the 1050, but check out the passmarks below and compare certain games using the Gamdebate.com "can I run this" with different GPU's. You'll start to see that some slightly older GTX models will destroy a newer "pov pack" series, like a 1050. So scout around is my suggestion. See below Passmarks...

https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

GTX 1050 = PMark of 4367
GTX 970 = PMArk of 8,556

Also, if that doesn't do it. Check this...

http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=3541&gid2=2498&compare=Nvidia%20GeForce%20GTX%201050-vs-Nvidia%20GeForce%20GTX%20970%20Gigabyte%20G1%20Gaming%204GB%20Edition

I'll leave the RAM and CPU for others to inform on. I have opinions, but I've said enough on the GPU : )

Also, if you feel someone has answered your question, please select it as such. Keeps the wheels turning. Not that mine would count, but just saying.

Either go with a g4560 (or any pentium that has 2core 4threads since prices fluctuate a lot) or a ryzen 4 core. The athlon is running on 5+ year old tech and is not a good gaming cpu anymore.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FVZfqk is this a better list?

Don't get an fx series too same problem as the athlon. Also the ryzen build by vapour is the same price and SO MUCH better you will not really have a good time using an fx 8320 and it's on a dead platform so a simple upgrade means a whole rebuild of the system.

Also that motherboard can't handle the fx 8320 for long before it dies.
