Will this PC configuration work?

This is my first PC I am going to build, and was wondering if everything is compatible, and I'd be able to reach an average of 60+ FPS on most "highly quality" options on games:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5 GHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T2 54.8 CFM
Mobo: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (saw a deal with the RAM and Mobo together...)
HDD: 1TB 7200 RPM, 3.5"
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 950 2GB
Chassis: Corsair 200R ATX Mid
PSU: EVGA 500W
Monitor: Asus VS228T-P 60Hz 21.5" Monitor

I also have some questions...

1. Do I need a WIFI adapter? Or if I already have a home router I don't need one?
2. Am I able to add an SSD later?
3. Do I need a sound card to plug in A50's and listen to audio?

Thanks!

Solution

They're priced that way because they're fairly powerful and last a long time. The FX-8350 is better than the FX-8320 and may work fine, wouldn't bottleneck, but you have (really) no use for the extra 2 cores, and the cores are weaker because there are more. Games will only utilize 2-4 cores. the 860k beats both of them when it comes to single-core performance. If you really want the FX series, go with the FX-8350, it won't hurt too much in terms of gaming, but may bottleneck in some cases (in CPU intensive scenarios, but not too bad)
I'll answer your lower questions first:

1. If you have an extra ethernet cable, you do not need a WiFi adapter
2. Yes
3. Your chassis (should) already have an audio cable to plug into your motherboard.

Now, for your build, I'd suggest looking some more. The GTX 950 is a budget (entry to mid-gaming) card, you won't play too many games on ultra (AAA titles), your CPU (the FX-8320) is a pretty weak CPU, you should upgrade that, too.

What's your budget?

Simple answer is yes, that PC will work fine, that CPU shouldn't hold that GPU back at all.. don't but a wifi adapter unless you are too far away from modem to plug in directly, You can add an SSD whenever you like, no you don't need a sound card

My GTX 950 (SSC, which is just an overclocked version) is being bottlenecked on some games (like Fallout 4). I reach 100% usage on all 4 of my cores, and the FX-8320 is weaker than the X4 860k (and keep in mind, you won't use all 8-cores on the FX-8320). I would upgrade the CPU, for many reasons, especially since this is mostly for gaming. Games on the GTX 950 should be fine (I speak for this because I'm playing at ultra on GTA V with rare drops into 40s). But the GTX 960 is having a sale right now (SSC):

so that should be the best choice for you, it's a little more powerful and worth more for you.

This is $757 (no shipping cost), BUT you can subtract $30 if you get a Tessaract BF case, and the GPU cost $10 less than listed, bringing the total cost to about $717 ($7 more)

The stock coolers on Intel should be fine for your purpose for now, you can always buy an after-market cooler later.

This includes:

- CPU
- GPU
- MOBO
- 8GB RAM
- Case
- HDD
- Monitor
- PSU
- An OS

This will outperform your other build. I can cut back some of the cost on the CPU if you want (CPU can be downgraded and still be powerful)

And would the TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter be fine for an adapter? Since the router is out of range?

yeah all good bro

The reason I needed the 8350 is probably because of multi tasking. I also need to render images, videos, use screen recorders, so that will probably utilize more cores and threads. Thank you for your help guys.

Alright, that's totally fine, plus you can always overclock!
