Will this play the newest games on highest settings, it is good enough for overclocking too?

Is it a good first setup. Can it run BF4 on ultra and would it be capable of decently overclocking? I wouldn't overclock straight away but when I do I will also buy a decent cooler and more case fans.

Also, I might get rid of the monitor and play on my 42" 1920 x 1080 TV to save money. If I do this then I will also buy a cooler from the money I save and also some case fans.

Would the XFX Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card be a slightly better choice as it is only £2 more and the benchmarks seem to be in its favour (although by very little)

Really, the 280x is a re branded 7970 Ghz BUT the 7970 comes with 3 free games of your choice out of quite a few, as the 280x doesn't so hop on the 7970 ghz as it is a great card and with some kick ass games like Far Cry 3 and Saints Row IV. Oh and on this page it says you can get Bioshock and Crysis 3, I can't seem to find what it's talking about, but take a look for yourself http://www.amd.com/uk/products/desktop/graphics/7000/Pages/amd-radeon-7000-series.aspx
