So I wanna replace my CPU.
I just don't know if it'll fit in my motherboards socket.

I currently have a AMD Athlon II X3 440 CPU, and it says it is a "Socket AM3 (938)"

I wanna buy a Intel® Core™ i7-3770 but I don't know if it'll fit in my socket.

If it doesn't, is it possible to replace the socket or do I have to get a new motherboard?

Solution
No, the Intel CPU (Socket 1155) will not fit into an AMD motherboard (Socket AM3).

You would have to purchase a new motherboard.
you cannot use the i7 on your motherboard .you need to buy a new one.

take a look at these motherboards:

If you get a z77 motherboard you can use virtue mvp.

with virtue mvp you can combine both your integrated graphics and discrete graphics and get very high frame rates in games.virtue mvp is only available for z77 and some other type of motherboard only.you have a good cpu .if you also have a good gpu you can utilise this.

i recommend asus.asus makes the best motherboards.
