This is kind a re-post other one got muddled. I currently have a FSP HEXA 500W PSU (http://www.fsplifestyle.com/product.php?LID=1&PSN=60#) I am planning on upgrading to a Sapphire R9 270X. Will the PSU work fine?

I don't plan to overclock. I currently have a GTX 650 TI GPU. And if I have to change PSU will this be fine :http://www.corsair.com/en/builder-series-cx500

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

plug in all your computer parts and it has a built in wattage rating.

So a 650ti is rated at 110 watts
R9 270X is rated at 180 watts.

Thats all i can tell you.

would need to know the rest of your computer specs...

I am not familiar with the PSU so im not sure how high quality it is. It will probably work but there is a potential for failure. you should probably just get a gtx 960 as it will perform better and will definitely be fine.

this is 195 usd... You could probably go for the 270x and be fine, its not ideal.

I plugged in all your parts into PCpartspicker and your wattage estimnate use with the R9 270x card is 353 watts. add 80% buffer and your up to 441 watts.

definately cutting it close. I don't think your PSU is even bronze level...

OK i looked at the PSU list here for quaility; I didn't find the Hexa sereies but i did see FSP listed on some of the higher quaility lists..... so its up to you to chance it.
