Will this PSU be compatible?

Computer Specs:

2.3 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 X2
Original mobo and powersupply (getting an upgrade)

Dont have to look. New ATX psu compatible with new 24 pin or old 20 pin motherboards.
Incidentally, you should go to 4 or 6 gig ram.
Inci Inci dentally, that bestec unit is a piece of junk and you should find another psu that fits the case.

That was not very helpful. I need more info. The PSU provided rest assure will fit the case.

And if so, may you suggest another PSU that will do the job properly?

Yes that will be ok. But, if your case can hold an ATX power supply I would recommend a Corsair CX500M.
