Solution

380x is basically just more of the same, most PSUs that handle the 380 will handle the 380x with no problem. The old 550W recommendations will probably be good, especially if they recommended seasonic units or other well reviewed models.
No reviews exist, but if it's anything like the 450 and 550, it's not worth the price. Get a Seasonic or Leadex Gold based unit instead. If you need to save money, you might be able to find an EVGA 650B2 somewhere, if not the EVGA G2 650 is usually the cheapest good option

The VP series are good budget units. Not the best efficiency, but MUCH better build quality and general performance than e.g. Corsair's CX, VS series and other cheap PSU's.

Like basroil said though, would get something better like a B2 unit from EVGA or S12II from Seasonic.

Didn't we go through this the other day? This thread sounds familiar. Looking for something in AUD? Yes, the VP600P will do the job. It's a budget unit made by Delta Electronics and is decent quality. We strive to upgrade people to higher quality power supplies here at Tom's since it's so important for a reliable pc but the Antec unit will be good enough.

'i just want the PSU to do it's job' from yesterday's thread

Any $20 PSU will do it's job, which is providing power to the system.
Why do we recommend spending a bit more on the PSU then?

If you get something from Bestbuy for $20, you're pretty much buying a metal case with some copper wiring inside. No protections from overvoltages from the wall, like lightning strikes. In power losses, it can't provide power long enough for the system to properly shut down. This can damage components, even kill them completely.

You're so much better off not taking the risk of low-quality PSU's. They may work perfectly, They may catch fire. You can never know.

yes we did go through this, but this is with a 380x not 380. It says the recommended wattage is 500 when that nitro 380 i mentioned before needed 550, which is why i did a new topic. Thanks anyway, I'll get the antec 600 if the antec gaming non module 520 isnt in stock.
