I want to upgrade my Acer-g3-605 (i5-4460) with a new card since the old r9 270(not x) have fan problems, it only spins when it get between 70c-80c on the desktop and 80c-90c in games.

So I wondered if the GTX 1070 would work with my PSU, I could also use that GPU when building a new PC in a years time, so I don't have to buy 2 new. (If not I might just get a 960/(1060) for now)

The PSU that is in my PC is this FSP500-50AAGA Would that work out. I play in 1050p

(The reason the a PSU upgrade is not my first choice, is that it uses a 12pin on the motherboard, so it would involve a 24pin to 12pin connector, which I'm not to sure about)

If you have any knowledge or advice about this I would be happy to hear it.

Thanks, I was afraid it was some cheap PSU that would damage my PC if stressed too much. And nice to know I can upgrade using that 24pin to 12pin if needed.

I noticed that the sticker on the PSU make it look like it's a 3 rail PSU, but all sites that have it write it's a 1 rail, which is it.

The electric drawing shows that the motherboard would draw from the 14amp, and then there is a 6pin on the 16amp and a 6pin + 6+2pin on the 18amp. Would it matter which I used if the GPU needed e.g. a 6pin and 8pin, like if I used the 6 pin + 6+2 pin for that card, would it then only use that 18amp, or would all amps (14/16/18) just be shared between connections. Or would it be better to use the 6pin from the 16amp and the and 8pin from the 18amp.
