Will this PSU work with my GPU?

Will it work with my Sapphire Nitro r9 390? As in will the connectors fit and I won't run into any issues?

I need 750w, I had gotten the card before and I was told my current 550w was good enough, it wasn't. I would rather follow what the box says on the GPU and get the 750w like it recommends.

Not for a single 390.

A Radeon R9 390 needs 30 amps on the 12v rail and a 550 to 650w PSU.

I'm just so scared of buying the wrong thing, I have one shot at getting it right without having to go through a pita refund/exchange. I've already gotten an item I can't use yet because of misinformation. Not saying you are telling me incorrect information, but I am just trying to be careful.

If the radeon R9 390 only needs 550w, why does my XFX Pro 550w not work with it? the fans won't even spin on the card.

Most HQ 550w will work , but I always recommend 650w for headroom with the 390.

Actually I m surprised the XFX won't run it. Great PSU with the power to do so.

I just think 650w is the right choice.

I think the reason my XFX will not work is because it is only 14 pins, when the card needs 18. unless i am somehow plugging in the pins wrong, I have tried plugging them in in an assortment of ways and it never turned on. If you have a trick for making it work, please, tell me, I would love to not have to spend another 100 dollars.

I would upgrade to a 650w , but what exact XFX550W model do you have , there are 4 of them.

xfx pro core edition 550w it says on it.

That's why , the "Core Edition" , only has 1- 6 pin and 1 - 6+2 pin , so it's lacking the other 6+2 power , therefore that is not sufficient. You need to upgrade.
