No. Maybe 1-2 FPS but that's it. The RAM is probably the least important in a gaming rig (besides capacity) since all the work comes from the GPU, CPU, and HDD/SSD. However tightening up the latencies can improve other applications besides gaming.
Only 1-2fps? With my g.skill ram in my desktop i saw a 8fps boost in games going to 6-7-7-18 from 10-11-11-31. I didnt know if the laptop would have such a increse
It looks like 2x8GB is actually supported so would 16gb 1600mhz @ 8-8-8-24 have a noticable difference in speed and fps from 2x4 8gb 1600mhz @ 11-11-11-30. The graphics is HD4400 so it uses shared ram. During BO2 i only get around 25fps on the lowest settings so would bigger capacity and faster timings help?
RAM speed does not play a big role, in fact almost no fps change, if you are using a dedicated GPU.
If you are using iGPU or on-boardGPU, which is using the system RAM or using shared system RAM, you will see a noticeable boost, if you upgrade the RAM speed.
